Freda Johnson

Executive Director

Executive Director Freda Johnson has proudly worked with and alongside area seniors and families for more than 13 years and has held leadership roles at several, well-respected senior living communities in and around the DFW Metroplex. She is a lifetime resident of Cleburne, Texas and feels right at home in Burleson. In her current role, Freda maintains an open-door policy and is passionate about learning and understanding the needs of residents, families and team members, as well as developing thoughtful solutions to support and empower the community’s success.

Outside of working hours, she enjoys gardening, coffee, and relaxing and watching movies. Freda is also proud mother to a wonderful son and a loving dog mom to her terrier mix.

Kathryn L. Gladden

Director of Celebrations

Director of Celebrations Kathryn Gladden has proudly served residents of Morada Burleson since 2018. She began as our front desk receptionist before switching over to focus on planning and orchestrating daily activities and events for residents. She now leads our community’s efforts to keep residents active and engaged in an overall lifestyle that provides multiple, diverse options for recreation and entertainment each day.

Outside of work, Kathryn has been married for more than 20 years and is a proud mom to a 19-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter. In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys being with her family and working on arts and crafts.

Karla Vega

Director of Health and Wellness

Director of Health and Wellness Karla Vega has been a graduate vocational nurse (GVN) specializing in geriatrics and has gained additional experience working in the pediatric home health setting. She is a proud graduate of Gallen College of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas, and in her current role, loves helping residents and supporting the continuing efforts of our community’s care team.

Outside of work, Karla is a devoted mom to her three-year-old daughter. She also enjoys travel and the outdoors, working out and living an active lifestyle.

Tyrone Cartwright

Director of Culinary Services

Director of Culinary Services Tyrone Cartwright brings more than 29 years of experience in the field of culinary arts to his role at Morada Burleson. Chef Tyrone attended Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island and completed an internship at the White House during the George H.W. Bush Presidential administration.

Throughout his decorated culinary career, he has honed his skills as an Executive Chef at country clubs, hotels and fine dining establishments, as well as working in private catering and with senior living communities. His specialties include ice carvings, tray designs and multicultural cuisines.

Outside of work, he enjoys listening to various music genres and is an avid collector of wine and spirits. He and his wife, Angela, have been married for 27 years and have two sons, Anson and Tyson.

Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith

Director of Operations

Director of Operations, Andrew Smith has only 2 years of senior living maintenance experience but has been doing manual labor for the last 20+ years. He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 19 and served 4 years with 1 tour to Iraq. He then spent the next 10 years working in a machining and welding shop in Burleson making and repairing parts for Gerdau Ameristeel in Midlothian. He has worked a side jobs off and on for the last 15 years working side by side with a friend/owner of a general contracting company. Anything from kitchen renovations, bathroom renovations, room add-ons, and helping building house from ground up.

 

He has lived his whole life in the Crowley/Burleson area all of his life except the four years being stationed around the United States and Iraq.

Yvonne (Joyce) Czesnowski

Business Office Manager

Business Office Manager, Yvonne (Joyce) Czesnowski has been with Morada for 14 months. Before coming here she worked at Legend Senior Living as Office Manager. She has been in the senior living business now for 4 years. She was a Store Manager in retail before coming to senior living for over 18 years. She’s been married since 1985, has 3 amazing children and 7 Grandkids. She’s been a resident in the Dallas-Fort Worth area all of her life.
