I checked out a few places and Morada Meadow Lakes stood out simply because it didn't feel or smell like a nursing home. It's more of a college dorm with walkers. The staff and other residents are great and I've gotten to know many of them very well. My mom has been there nine months now and she was a little apprehensive at first but now gets up, dresses, takes her meds, and heads down the hall for breakfast. Most days she doesn't come back to her apartment until after dinner in the evening. She has a core group of friends and they all meet in the lobby for fun and games and she has occasionally complained that her stomach hurts from laughing so much. With her Alzheimer's, she can't remember their names but they have become family. We both enjoy the food and she gets plenty to eat. She is close so I stop by twice a week, I do her laundry and she spends Sunday afternoons at my house. Many residents have pets and while my mom wouldn't be able to care for one, she has adopted everyone else's dogs and never leaves her room without treats for them. Sometimes I worry that her condition would make her a better candidate for a full-blown nursing home but with talking alarm clocks to remind her to take her meds, her walker, electric recliner, FaceTime on her phone, a Ring camera that allows me to check in on her once in awhile, and the helpful staff, she is safe and we seem to get things done. I'd recommend taking a tour, having lunch there and see what you think. They are right in the middle of a big remodeling in the public areas but once it is done, it should look great.

Well... I have lived at Meadow Lakes for nearly 15 years! Needless to say, I enjoy living here or I would have moved. I really like to meet new friends as they come and go. We have lot's of fun. (well..most of us do) It is home to me and I really enjoy the trips we make in our bus and our van. When there is no more covid to worry about, I am sure we will get back to having more outings. We even have transportation to markets, banks, doctors, etc. as needed. I wouldn't want to go back to living by myself in a house someplace. We are kept just as busy as we want to be, or we can have our own time to read, etc. Ourlibraries are great!.

My mom has lived there the past 5 years. We moved her because she was lonely and bored at home. At Morada, she has made many very good friends. She enjoyed the some of the activities they have there such as line dancing, bingo, and crafts. They have several people come in throughout the year to play music. They also have outings to restaurants and to the store. The staff here is wonderful!! They are all so caring and kind. I highly recommend this facility.

I have lived here over a year. The residents are 90% great. The staff is wonderful and the food isd ok, but if you are on a special health diet the cooks can't help. Only complaint. When your rent increase comes expect a huge hike also if two are more people occupy your dwelling their is a $605 additional charge perperson. The owner is greedy and wants to charge for breathing. Anything you want done expect to pay for it. These are the underlying charges not spoken about. Still cheaper than most in the area. Walls are very thin so be careful what you do in your apartment as you can be overheard. Will have to compete to use laundry room. Overall I would rate a B- down from a B when the owner got greedy. We get a 5.9 social security increase and the rent is raised 10% . They call themselves a Christian community but get behind on the rent and see how Christian they are. Morada is ownwd by Division which is a large corporation in 13 states owning senior communities. There main interest is making money not the welfare of seniors. Morada is in Irving and has over 500 employees. I stay here because I have no where else to go and moving when you are disabled is a chore, but be prepared to pay out when your lease is up. I ask for a copy of their budget and was refused. After 16 months I am moving due to cost plus a noisy neighbor which management never addressed. Instead of painting and taking 6 months to do it the place needs renovation.Get this I gave 30 days to move and I still receive a notice what next month's rent will be. These people will try to get money from you any way they can. DO NOT TRUST the BOOKKEEPER and watch out for Borrowed sisters, check your weekly statements for charges, they overcharged on several occassions.

Our family has had a wonderful experience at Meadow Lakes. It took me over a year to find the right mix of location, and community to transition my Italian mother, Linda to. She is not an easy one to convince or handle but they rose to the occasion! I challenge you to find an entity, with a more compatible group ...Tanya Wood, Director, and her staff Terri, Coleta, Celesta, Christi ET AL along with cohesive residents to welcome your loved one to the Fort Worth area AMEN thank you all!

The Meadow Lakes Retirement Center has been home to my parents for three years. The experience was great for both of them. The staff were excellent in every way. The food was great and everything was kept totally clean. My parents felt welcome and appreciated all the time and the staff and other residents are considered family now.

Love the staff, love the residents, love the Borrowed Sisters. They help take care of the residents for as little as 5$per 15min. Med reminders, meal reminders/delivery, dressing, bathing, exercise, doctor appointments. Can't beat that price anywhere! Borrowed Sister is there all day, 7 days a week! This place has the best food and activities! I highly recommend this property and believe me I have worked at them all!

Uniquely charming. It is beautiful to look at, but the residents are awesome. You quickly become family. The staff is amazing. Love Perry! His leadership has been a true asset. At the end of my days, this will most likely be where I end up.. it is fantastic!
