Zackery Field

Executive Director

Executive Director Zackery Field brings 10 years of senior living management experience to Morada Senior Living holding various roles as such Executive Director, Special Assets Operations Specialist, Regional Director of Operations, and Vice President of Operations. Zackery is a results-oriented professional with experience in accelerated growth, business reengineering, and financial restructuring within the Senior Living industry. Zackery is known for a strategic and focused approach due to a decade of experience within the senior living industry by limiting operational and financial risks, developing lean teams, and establishing creative strategies for optimizing internal operations.

Zackery holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from American Public University in Health & Sports Sciences. In addition, Zackery also holds another master’s degree from Walden University in Health Education & Promotion. Zackery is also currently finishing his dissertation for his doctorate in Health Education & Promotion from Walden University.

Senior Lifestyle Counselor

Senior Lifestyle Counselor Amanda Hernandez is a 20-year sales and marketing professional who has served our Morada Temple community since 2015. Amanda loves helping seniors and families discover the many joys of experiential living at Morada Temple, and customizing living options and solutions to fit the unique qualities each brings to our community.

Outside of work hours, she and her husband, Don, enjoy vacations, cook-outs and gathering among their large family, which now includes 11 grandchildren.

Director of Home Health

Director of Home Health Angela Carter is a 26-year industry professional who has proudly served the residents of Morada Temple in multiple roles since 2015. Motivated by a love of learning from a young age, Angela learned to fly her father’s twin-engine Cessna airplane.

Outside of work hours, she spends her free time with her two daughters and great nieces and enjoys decorating and cooking enchiladas. She’s also a collector of gold and silver coins, silver certificates and baseball cards.

Shana Bruggman, RN, BSN

Director of Clinical Services

Director of Clinical Services Shana Bruggman, RN, BSN has been a practicing nurse in the Temple area for more than 17 years, and has proudly served the residents of Morada Temple since 2018. A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, she moved to Temple in 2000 to attend the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. There, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, with specialties including hospice, pain management and long-term care.

Having recently become Director of Clinical Services, Shana is excited to dedicate her time and efforts to making Morada Temple an exceptional place for residents, their families and the team members caring for them.

Outside of work, Shana and her husband, Mark, himself a local business owner, are proud parents of three children, 15-year-old Hunter, 14-year-old Hailey and 11-year-old Haiden. The family spend free time attending the kids’ activities and being grateful for each day God provides.

Michael Elkins

Director of Celebrations

Director of Celebrations, Michael Elkins started his working life when he began working for the Boy Scouts of America in 1987 while living in Irving Texas. He relocated to the Carolinas with the Scouts in 1992, when he decided to move back to Texas in 2011. Once relocated back to Texas, Michael worked for H.E.B. as a Team Leader at the distribution center here in Temple for 7 years, before deciding to make a career change.

Michael wanted to find a career where he could make a difference in people’s lives. That desire for a career change has Michael ending up being here at the Morada! As Celebrations Director, Michael gets to come to work every day and make people smile! He has the opportunity to interact with our residents daily during, chair exercise, chair yoga, arts, crafts, live music events and so much more! Celebrations Director is a position that Michael truly enjoys and feels blessed to have!

In Michael’s free time he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife Montie, his 2 children, 6 stepchildren, 9 grandchildren, and 5 cats!

Senior Lifestyle Coordinator

Senior Lifestyle Coordinator, Julie Stermer has devoted more than 12 years to serving area seniors in a variety of roles, and brings to Morada Temple a wealth of experience in sales and marketing as well as resident admissions.

She takes great pride in helping residents make a smooth transition and embark upon a more rewarding lifestyle experience overall. Personalizing services to better suit the needs of individual seniors is important to Julie and one of the core values she brings to her role with our community.

Beyond working hours, Julie and her husband, Andy, are proud parents to three daughters and a son, and enjoy family time with their children and three grandchildren.

Michael Harris

Director of Culinary Services

Chef Michael was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica. He spent his time learning and developing his skill in various resorts and restaurants, with some of the best chefs within his reach. With over 11 years in the field, he has learned various cuisines and has experienced many beautiful cultures and their culinary techniques.
Chef Michael leads the Culinary Team here at Morada Temple as our Director of Culinary Services. He aims to bring fine dining quality service and Food to our wonderful residents.
