– “10 FRIENDS’” LEGACY LIVES ON
Victoria Is Home to Nearly 200 Years of History
Victoria is beloved for its distinctive blend of classic and contemporary. The city’s cultural epicenter remains the historic Downtown area, once home to the “10 Friends,” a group of families who led Victoria in its formative years. To this day, The Victoria County Courthouse and St. Mary’s Church highlight the city’s architectural treasures, which are complemented by diverse dining, shops and a range of fine arts and culture destinations.
Victoria, however, also features a wealth of contemporary options for fun and recreation. Those include The Texas Zoo and multiple stops on the Coastal Texas BBQ Trail. There are also seasonal events like the annual Bootfest, and lots of outdoor fun on or along the Gulf and inland waterways. In fact, Victoria’s desirable, central location even makes it easy to enjoy day trips or weekend jaunts to Austin, Corpus Christi, Houston and San Antonio, all of which are located within two hours of our front door at Morada Victoria East.
